Kanosuke Single Malt 2022 Limited Edition (70cl / 59%) is a bold, cask?strength Japanese single malt from the Kagoshima?based Kanosuke distillery, showcasing its house style of fruit?driven, lightly peated whisky. It opens with ripe peach, apricot and stewed apple, lifted by a whisper of campfire smoke and a touch of vanilla and baking spice from the cask. On the palate the 59% ABV feels concentrated yet balanced, with waves of sweet stone fruit, honeyed oak, mild pepper and a growing warmth that lingers without overwhelming. The finish is long, with citrus?zest brightness and a faint smoky, medicinal note. This whisky works best with a dash of water to open its layers, making it an excellent contemplative dram.
